Bylaws Rates and Terms
The rules by which Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative is governed by are spelled out in its Bylaws ( 125 KB). The bylaws, and any amendments, are approved by the membership. The bylaws of Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative were last revised in February, 2011.
All of the Cooperative's rates are based upon the cost to service a class of consumers. The rates the Cooperative charges in Virginia are based on detailed cost of service studies that are reviewed and approved by the Virginia State Corporation Commission.
The Commission in Virginia has also approved terms and conditions under which the Cooperative will provide electric distribution service to its customers. If you live in the counties of Augusta, Rockingham, or Shenandoah, click on Terms and Conditions ( 231 KB) which were approved on April 2010. If you are a new member/owner and you live in the counties of Frederick, Warren, Page, Highland, or Clarke, or the city of Winchester, or the towns of Luray, Shenandoah or Stanley, please refer to these Terms and Conditions ( 121 KB).
